Alfonso the Grape Wine labels

Winner of Supreme Champion at Harpers Design Awards 2020.

The client was looking for a simplistic but clever answer to this label with a fun take on a grape based character. Using a simple wine thumb print stain on the label as the basis of the grape character, we presented Alfonso the Grape with six different front labels which sees him in various stages of his flavoursome rule. Alfonso The Grape rules the vineyard.

This was also an industry first in wine label printing. Usually there is only one option, but digital printing techniques were utilised to create six different labels for the same wine. This was largely because the client liked all our different designs ideas, so wanted to use all of them in one go. And so tasked Label Makers with making this happen.

This most royal of grapes is a rare find, located in only a few regal corners of the globe. Alfonso guarantees a wine most divine; medium bodied with elegant aromas of blackberry, fresh strawberries and raspberries. A splash of Syrah adds touches of jammy cherry fruit and hints of pepper.
